A blend of 2009 (60%) and 2008 (40%) Chardonnays, bottled in April 2010 and disgorged January 2018. More or less eight years on the lees has imbued this organic wine with a golden colour and buttery richness, yet a lowly dosage of just 3.5g/l ensures it has attack and clarity too. There's lovely meatiness to the fruit, perhaps enhanced with the use of wild yeasts for fermentation. The mousse is quite soft, but biting citrus and that core of acidity means there's nothing blowsy here. An incisive wine yet with that generosity of its long ageing and, I believe, some barrel ageing for a propprtion of the base wines.

The nose of this wine reveals prominent notes of smoke and coffee bean, accompanied by dark red fruits, licorice, olives, herbs, and earthy undertones. On the palate, it offers a rounded, lush texture with generous and rich ripe fruits that fill the mouth, complemented by hints of cocoa and espresso. This modern-styled wine is already enjoyable to taste, with a drinking window from 2022 to 2034.

This is a wine with fine acidity, red berry flavor and a mineral texture. Fresh, ethereally light and fragrant in character, it should drink well from 2015.

The Sori della Sorba Langhe Nebbiolo offers an enticing nose filled with aromas of ripe red cherries, dried roses, and hints of tobacco. On the palate, it displays a medium-bodied structure with silky tannins and vibrant acidity. Flavors of red berries, cranberries, and a touch of earthiness intertwine, leading to a long and elegant finish.

A biodynamically grown wine that is partially aged in used oak barrels. Complex black fruit aromas with pepper and a touch of spice. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, the wine has a sumptuous richness without being heavy. Lovely, sweet ripe fruit and fine tannins that build towards the end of the taste. Extremely well balanced. This wine can be drunk after 3 years but is best drunk after 6 years and will age beautifully well past the decade mark.

Combining Malbec, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and pinches of Petit Verdot and Carignan, this is a rich and densely packed red that is supple on the palate in integrated tannin. Dark plum, vanilla, cherry cola and toasted oak give it a crowd-pleasing approachability. Virginie Boone

After the light, complex oak spice aromas, the next thing that strikes you about this medium-bodied wine is an unusually appetizing, even grippy texture from good acidity and possibly oak tannins. The wine is structured, concentrated and a good candidate for further aging. Best from 2025–2030.

Yellow citrus, white peach, orange rind and honeysuckle scents open the nose. On the palate, the wine is creamy, sweet, exuberant and fruity, with just a hint of chalk in the backend of the finish. The wine blends 71% Sauvignon Blanc and 29% Semillon.14% ABV. Drink from 2024-2028. 92-92 Pts.

Seared lemon peel, light peach and tart citrus-flesh aromas fire up the nose of this brisk bottling. The palate clings to a chalky, tense frame, which provides a textural balance to the fresh Meyer lemon flavor. Matt Kettmann

The nose of this wine needs some air in order to wake up but soon notions of ripe Amalfi lemon and butter rise from the glass. On the palate, freshness takes center stage, with a playful, concentated finesse that dances across the tongue. The wine is wonderfully sprightly and refreshing, with unforced resonance. Forty percent of this Cru is made in oak. Instantly it seems more complex, with more schist and flint, and a nutty character too, the gentle toasted almond very appealing. Mouth-filling and ripe, so much more weight here and more ripe juiciness than the Vaillons, quite a different style but then the finish is lean and super fresh, with the lick of salty acidity powering through.

Powerful and pure, this wine presents fresh orchard fruit, white pepper and tea leaf. Aging in old oak barrels provide notes of nutmeg, fresh vanilla and fresh almond. Cellar hold until at least 2028 as the palate is quiet at the moment.

Bright young straw colour wth a green hue. Pure and fragrant aromas offering white peach, pear, lemongrass and flinty notes. The palate shows very nice restraint in terms of freshness, mouth watering with crisp young stone fruit flavours, good volume and texture with fine extract and a very long vibrant finish.

 Arnot-Roberts Watson Ranch Chardonnay is a distinguished example of California Chardonnay, hailing from the cooler, southern reaches of Napa Valley. This wine reflects the unique terroir of the Watson Ranch, showcasing a restrained and elegant style that stands in contrast to the often more opulent expressions from the region. It features a pale, golden hue and a complex bouquet of green apple, lemon zest, and flint, with subtle undertones of vanilla and toasted oak derived from its careful aging. On the palate, it offers a crisp acidity that beautifully balances its medium body and depth of flavor. The taste evolves from citrus and orchard fruits to a more nuanced minerality and a hint of salinity, reflecting the vineyard's coastal influence. The finish is long and refreshing, with a lingering complexity that invites contemplation. Their Chardonnay is a testament to the winery's commitment to highlighting the unique character of their vineyard sites, producing a wine that is both refined and expressive.

Medium yellow/green colour. There are intense pea-pod & asparagus aromas. The palate is rich with a touch of sweetness/juicy ripeness, overlaid by toasty oak. The alcohol adds a touch of warmth & the acidity is quite tart, leaving green notes on the finish.

The Chateau Angelus 'Blanc du Milieu' stands as a distinguished and relatively rare expression of white wine from a domain more typically celebrated for its commanding reds. This exquisite white blend, primarily composed of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, dazzles with its intricate balance of vivacity and depth. Aromatically, it presents a captivating array of white peach, citrus zest, and floral notes, delicately accented by hints of vanilla and toasted almond from judicious oak aging. On the palate, it reveals a rich, creamy texture that gracefully balances the wine's refreshing acidity. Layers of ripe stone fruits, lemon curd, and a touch of herbaceousness lead to a persistent, finely nuanced finish. The 'Blanc du Milieu' offers a sophisticated and versatile pairing option, ideal for dishes ranging from seafood and poultry to rich, creamy sauces, embodying the elegance and complexity that is the hallmark of Chateau Angelus.

Medium golden yellow, silver reflections. Nuances of yellow apple, delicate pineapple, fine citrus zest, mineral touch. Medium complexity, white fruit, fine acid structure, subtle extract sweetness in the finish, well balanced, already developed and easy to drink, subtle floral honey in the aftertaste.

The aromas are bright, with notes of honey dew, lemon and spice, much more fruit forward than this wine usually is. The palate meanwhile is reserved. It seems fragmented at present, but many good pieces are there. Sean P. Sullivan

The grapes for Meursault Les Meurgers are coming from the parcel located on the route to Auxey Duresses, in a horseshoe shape ravine. The grapes always reach ripeness quite early in the season. The name of this village comes from the efforts undertaken by man to plant vines in extremely stony soils. Stones that were thrown formed piles, that are called "murger".

Rich and luxurious wine, well balanced and structured in the mouth. Beautiful golden yellow in color with green highlights. It boasts aromas of toasted nuts, ripe fruit and a very delicate oak aroma. On the palate it is dry and mellow with a lingering smooth finish.

Nose: Intense aromas of citrus fruits, particularly grapefruit, with hints of white flowers and a touch of honey.

Taste: Crisp and refreshing on the palate, with flavors of lemon, lime, and green apple. Subtle notes of tropical fruits and a delicate minerality.

Palate: Well-balanced acidity, offering a lively and vibrant mouthfeel. The wine has a medium body and a long, zesty finish.

This does, in fact, attack the palate with a burst of raw wood that sharpens up the mouthfeel. More time in bottle and plenty of aeration will help to smooth that out. Vinified in a brand new foudre, the Dijon 76 clone fruit is polished and mixes apple, pear and peach with a touch of fruit skin.
