This opulent whisky, enriched by its finishing in cognac casks, inherits the legacy of its predecessor, the brighter Cask No. 16. It embodies the essence of an exclusive private club, offering a sophisticated sipping experience. Initially, it presents a symphony of cedary, leathery, and tobacco notes, reminiscent of old-world luxury. As you delve deeper, flavors of toffee and cherry from Beaujolais nouveau give way to a luscious blend of ripe red apples and dark, dusky fruit, complemented by hints of candied citrus peel and bitter almond skins, all gracefully underscored by oak undertones. The finish is punctuated by a lively interplay of gingery spice and white pepper, lingering over a backdrop of textured sandalwood. With its sumptuous, creamy body, this whisky is an indulgence to be savored.
The warehouses at Glenora are not heated, so aging virtually stops in winter. Thus, the whisky doesn’t reach its peak until its mid-teens. By then, it is malty, fresh, crisp, and grassy, with hints of vanilla and delicate, slightly bitter fruits, including apricots and citrus pith. Fragile floral notes join exotic hints of mango and a nuttiness reminiscent of almond skins and sweetened coconut. Air do dheag slàinte, Glenora , as they say in Cape Breton’s Gaelic Highlands. (Canada only)

In 1854, Hiram Walker, an American entrepreneur with interests in the flour and grain industry, ventured into whisky production in Detroit. At the time, many grain merchants and millers dabbled in whisky production as a means of utilizing surplus grain and milling by-products. However, with Michigan's burgeoning temperance movement threatening prohibition, Walker relocated his distillery across the Detroit River to Windsor, Ontario in 1858. To differentiate his Canadian-produced whisky from American counterparts and to denote its higher quality, Walker branded his product "Canadian Club." This whisky boasts a nose redolent of vanillans, with subtle notes of crystallized sugar and fresh fruit. On the palate, it reveals a rich complexity, showcasing stone fruits like plum and dried apricot, with oak undertones that are well-balanced despite its aging. The finish is long and harmonious, making it a standout whisky.
