This medium-bodied wine is fully mature, presenting a harmonious blend of cassis, cranberry, earth, tobacco, cedar, and forest floor notes. While displaying a hint of rusticity in its tannins and subtle green nuances in the red berry finish, it appeals to aficionados favoring a more traditional style. Successful for its vintage, it leans slightly towards the classic and austere end of the style spectrum. Given its current state, there is no need for further aging, making it ready to enjoy now.

This recently released bottle from Ducru Beaucaillou boasts a modern design and offers a remarkable tasting experience akin to a stellar 1982 Ducru. Full-bodied and elegant, it presents a rich and complex profile with notes of tobacco, cedar, currant, and wet forest on the nose. The palate is adorned with layers of ripe, lush fruits and silky, refined tannins that steal the show. While allowing some time for aeration would enhance the experience, even a quick pour offers ample satisfaction, with the wine evolving beautifully in the glass.

In 2006, Don Julio, with his family, planted their final agave field. In honor of his devotion and craftsmanship, this agave harvest was carefully distilled, barreled, and set aside for a special use. To preserve this tequila and the exquisite agave piñas behind it, we have implemented a Solera aging system. The Solera aging method combines and matures tequilas of different characteristics finished in unique casks, allowing the final agave harvest to remain at the heart of this rare Extra Añejo Tequila. One of the original producers that grows Trebbiano Abruzzese, one of the few quality grapes of the Trebbiano group. There is not much of this exported and even fewer bottles of the Montepulciano. Francesco Valentini and his son are the only humans allowed in the cellar as Francesco never wants to introduce foreign microbes or yeasts to interfere with the ageing of the wine. These are some of the most ageable white wines in the world and in fact, could be considered “unicorns” as they are hard to find here in Canada.  Truly collectible.

Located in Loreto Aprutino in the province of Pescara, the Valentini winery boasts of a centuries-old winemaking tradition. Francesco Paolo Valentini is a more than well-known figure in the wine world. The winery covers 65 hectares of vineyards dedicated to the production of Trebbiano, Montepulciano and Cerasuolo d' Abruzzo. Annual production is around 50,000 bottles. It is not possible to identify the production method as Organic or Biodynamic since the approach in the vineyard is unique and artisanal. Montepulciano is a powerful and impetuous wine. It is characteristic of bewitching with its important body and intriguing bouqet of aromas.

Maison Louis Jadot is one of the most trusted and revered wine houses in Burgundy’s Côte d’Or. Frédéric Barnier, Jadot’s esteemed winemaker, and his team balance tradition and technology, focusing on the purest expression of each wine’s terroir.  Founded in 1859, the house now owns 528 acres of vineyards, including 280 acres of the Cote d’Or’s most prestigious Premier and Grand Cru plots. Brisk deep purple, this is a solid multi-textured wine with depth of flavour and a certain darkness to it but it remains superbly balanced in tannins and acidity. An extremely perfumed and exotic wine.

The Remy Martin Louis XIII Dragon Coffret, designed by Chinese artist Liu Li Hong, it is a limited edition coffret designed for 2024 Lunar New Year. In a special celebration edition for the Lunar New Year, Year of the Dragon, the Louis XIII cognac, starts life aged in individual cellars in centuries-old barrels, which helps to give it its rich, full flavour.

A second, though equally precious release from the cellars of Lafite Rothschild is this venerable Bas Armagnac, produced from 70% Baco and 30% Ugni Blanc and composed of material aged between thirty and forty-two years. Like the Tres Vieille Reserve Cognac, the Vieille Reserve Armagnac has been part of a way of life at Rothschilds for decades where it's a family tradition to serve the finest spirits to friends and relations. More recently Lafite were cajoled into making these spirits available outside of close family circles.

Working with a small number of vignerons and distillers and with advice from Armagnac specialists, the Lafite team select well-aged "pieces" (casks in Armagnac) classified among the finest the appellation has to offer. The idea is simply to express "the best for Lafite". Style, continuity and a desire to do things slightly differently result in a blend from multiple harvests. The current composition was sourced from the Darroze family's stocks. They remain the watchful and patient custodians of 250 Armagnacs, including more than 50 vintages spanning a century, most sourced from the western portion of the Bas-Armagnac region. The family is highly respected on their home ground and abroad (uber wine critic, Robert Parker named Francois Darroze,“the Pope of Armagnac”). Together with son Marc, they continue to roam the best estates and terroirs in search of the most distinctive brandies. Arriving with Lafite's seal of approval in a handsome oak box and wax-sealed antique bottle, this is guaranteed to be one the most impressive examples money can buy. Winemaker Steve Doerner has been making wine for 37 years - 14 years at Calera in California and 23 years at Cristom in Oregon. Luke Jefferson is his new wine project with miniscule production, first released as 40 cases with the 2013 vintage and 120 cases in 2014. The wine is named as an homage to his 2-year-old son, Luke Jefferson Doerner, and is also a nod to Thomas Jefferson, whom Steve admires. Steve's spouse, Irene Steh-Doerner, is also part of the family project. The wine allows Steve to pursue making a wine that suits his personal vision and palate apart from the Cristom style. This cases features one bottle of each vintage from 2014-2018, a perfect gift for the Pinot lover or for the aficionado.

AFIP No.1 is the high-end limited edition of a dry red wine that has been launched by Chateau Changyu Afip. Both the exquisite skills of Changyu's nine generations of winemakers and the adption of internationally advanced winemaking equipment have been jointly combined to create the excellent quality of this state banquet level wine. Limited to 5,000 bottles worldwide, making it one of the most expensive Chinese wines. The bottle is a quiet black color with a three-dimensional diamond-shaped texture, giving it a very dignified look. The character "1" on the bottle is handmade in 18K yellow gold, with 28 Swarovski crystals and diamonds around the character, which looks like the bright stars in the deep night sky, and it has a great sense of design. At the 2010 Pentaward International Packaging Design Award Gala, it won the Gold Award in the Luxury Design category.

Elegant, sophisticated, long, clean and expansive, this is showing just great due to all its layers of perfectly ripe, red fruits, silky tannins, length and freshness. There is a real verve here, with concentration, sweetness, lift and complexity allowing the wine to age and evolve. The finish leaves you with more of those sweet, ripe, juicy berries. Today the second wine of Mouton Rothschild is superior to every vintage of Mouton produced in the 70s and most of the 80s! The wine blends 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc.

The 2020 Masseto now sees new DNA with a touch of Cabernet Franc added to this celebrated Merlot-based icon wine. This is a vintage of enormous richness and density, and everything about the wine is taken up a notch or two (including the bottle glass weight and the 15% alcohol content). But Axel Heinz and his team are well prepared for the hot vintages like 2020, and changes to farming and canopy management ensure even ripening. This wine is always hard to analyze in its youth. It needs many more years to soften and flesh out. Give it time.

Made from a single vineyard of old vines, this wine is only produced in excellent vintages. It ages for 30 months in large hand selected barrels, used only for this wine. The nose is extremely complex and
broad with the classic Sangiovese notes of marasca cherry and
violets, but there are also scents of orange peel, sage, and balsamic. The Cask 23 wine combines the signature perfume of grapes from the Fay vineyard with the structured and dark fruit of the SLV. The wine opens with fragrant and fresh aromas ofred and black currants, black tea, anise, and nutmeg. Vibrant with savoury notes, blackberry and blackcurrant flavours. The tannins are velvety and refined, and the oak is well integrated. This wine scored almost perfect - 99 points. ecause we also carry the 2018, this is a great opportunity to create a mini-vertical.

A blend of the most sublime eaux-de-vie of Grande Champagne Cognac, the Tesseron Lot No 53 XO Perfection is composed of grapes from two varieties: the Colombarde and Ugni Blanc to give it dimension and character. The Pym-Rae reveals a deep garnet-purple color and a slightly reticent, slowly emerging nose of freshly crushed blackcurrants, ripe blackberries and wild blueberries with suggestions of garrigue, red currant jelly, mossy tree bark and truffles plus wafts of bouquet garni and Sichuan pepper.

The 2019 Pavie is a blend of 50% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc, and 18% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple in color, it is a little subdued to start, soon opening out to deliver notions of black cherries, blueberry compote, and molten licorice, followed by hints of hoisin, tar, and cracked black pepper.

The 2016 Palmer is a blend of 47% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Petit Verdot. Opaque garnet-purple colored, it slowly glides out of the glass with compelling notes of blueberry compote, warm cassis and kirsch with emerging hints of violets, cigar box, black tea, sandalwood and Sichuan pepper.

This is a prodigious effort. A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and the balance Merlot and Cabernet Franc (only 37% of the crop qualified for Las Cases), this dense ruby/purple wine has a stunningly pure bouquet of dark fruit, wet rocks, graphite, and subtle background toast/vanillin. Full-bodied, masculine, and very deep and concentrated, this titanic effort is at least 8-10 years away from its plateau of maturity. The Delon family have produced another legend. Anticipated maturity: 2023-2050+.

Spiced sandalwood, white pepper, saffron, cigar box, oyster shell salinity, orange peel, and still juicy blackcurrant and blueberry fruit, even as it heads towards 35 years old. Utterly gorgeous, effortless even, the word beguiling comes out of nowhere. Love this, and provides a glimpse into what this wine can acheive when you are lucky enough to catch it at the right moment. 50% new oak, Michel Delon owner. Harvest September 5 to 25, after a hot dry year.

The 2019 Château Haut-Brion Blanc is a more Sauvignon Blanc-dominated white that includes 36% Semillon. Its light gold hue is followed by a bright, racy Sauvignon nose of crushed limes, caramelized grapefruit, white flowers, and subtle minerality. It's incredibly pure, vibrant, and crystalline on the nose.

Harvest took place this year from 23rd September to 8th October. The wine was aged for around 12 months in two-thirds new oak. Medium brick-brown in color, the 1990 Ducru-Beaucaillou is quite evolved, offering notions of incense, tree bark, tilled soil and tobacco with nuances of preserved plums, kirsch, tapenade and leather. Medium to full-bodied, the palate still possesses a good amount of earth-laced savory fruit with a bit of chew to the texture and a stewed tea finish.

To the north of the Côte de Beaune, the Montagne de Corton brings together the villages of Aloxe-Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses and Ladoix-Serrigny. The vineyards lie between 250 and 330 meters above sea level, forming an amphitheatre unlike any other on the Côte. Corton Grand Cru is produced mainly in red over 90 ha, and may bear the name of its climat, of which there are 25, such as Les Perrieres, Les Combes, Clos des Meix, Les Bressandes, Le Rognet, Les Renardes, Le Clos du Roi, etc.

Composed of 48.6% Merlot, 43.2% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8.2% Cabernet Franc, harvested from 7th to 29th September, the 2020 La Mission Haut-Brion has an alcohol of 14.7%. It needs considerable swirling and coaxing to reveal slowly emerging scents of freshly crushed blackcurrants, Morello cherries, wild blueberries and forest floor, leading to suggestions of violets, baker's chocolate and cardamom with wafts of dusty soil and oolong tea. The medium to full-bodied palate bursts with impactful, fresh red, black and blue fruit layers, supported by impressive freshness and fantastically ripe, fine-grained tannins, finishing very long and fragrant. A stunning expression of this vintage!

A blend of 71.4% Sauvignon Blanc and 28.6% Semillon, harvested 20th to 27th August and with an alcohol of 13.9%, the 2020 Haut Brion Blanc slowly unfurls to reveal notes of fresh pears, spiced apple slices, orange zest and lemongrass, plus touches of wet pebbles, dillseed and baking bread. The medium-bodied palate wears its lightly spicy apple and pear layers with grace and sophistication, supported by a racy backbone and subtly creamy texture, finishing long and mineral-laced. It will need time, but there's no doubting it's a knock-out.
