Saint-Joseph, Rhone, France
Red Wine
Saint Joseph in the Northern Rhone is only authorized for 100% Syrah. Black pepper, warm spice, black cherry, and iron minerality, it would be best to put this away and let the tannins settle down, or open for several hours before serving to open. Classic Rhone Valley Syrah.

White Wine
"Baked apples and pears, laced with white flowers, are complemented by hints of raw almond as the 2020 Bianco Contrada Passochianche (PC) blossoms in the glass. It's elegant and silky in feel, with ripe melon and inner florals that cascade across the palate, as a core of minerality and hints of spice reveal themselves toward the close. The 2020 tapers offincredibly long with a bitter twang, as hints of young peach and inner herbal tones fade. The Passochianche is just a baby today, yet it's packed full of potential. The balance here is unreal. It hails from high-elevation vines (1,000 meters) planted in deep, sandy volcanic soils. The wine spends thirty-six hours macerating on the skins, and then refines for seventeen months in neutral fifteen-hectoliter barrels." -Vinous

" I loved the 2016 Château d'Issan and this is a certainly a wine to seek out. Made from a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Merlot from yields of 55 hectoliters per hectare, aged 18 months in 50% new oak, it has a beautiful perfume of blue fruits (cassis, blueberries, etc.) as well as hints of graphite, subtle oak, and charcoal. Medium to full-bodied, with integrated acidity, a terrific mid-palate, and perfect balance, it needs 4-5 years of bottle age and is going to cruise in good cellars for 20-25 years or more. It's a beautiful, elegant, seamless wine that's very much in the style of the vintage." -Jeb Dunnuck (2/2019)

Named for the giant old-growth Douglas fir sitting right at the top of the vineyard, Old Firs is a study in terroir. No matter the length of the growing season, nor the size of crop, Old Firs always has a hallmark salinity backed with a ton of power and intensity. The furthest west of all our plantings Old Firs Block is constantly in a deluge of fog and cold Pacific winds. The site speaks clearly year after year through both winemaking and vintage. This is one for the ages.

Piedmont, Italy
This 100% Timorasso is native to the Tortona area in Piemonte. The ancient name is Derthona and often seen on the labels. Before nearing extinction, this grape was brought back to life by Walter Massa, knowing there was great potential. The grape ages remarkably well and will resemble a dry Riesling with five years of age or more. While the Costa Del Vento will be rounder, the Sterpi will be more mineral and sinewier, although elegant. Decant for best tasting experience.
Barolo, Piedmont, Italy
The Cogno family has been making wine for four generations in Piedmont. Located in Novello (one of the 11 communes in which Barolo can be made), it is now being run by Elvio's daughter Nadia and her husband Valter Fissore, the current winemaker. Ravera is a powerful Nebbiolo that has enticing scents of rose, tobacco and perfumed berry, along with a palate of violet, raspberry compote, star anise and wild mint. Taut and refined tannins, yet they have found a roundness in the 2018 vintage. The finish is complex with some spice notes. This wine will no doubt become better with age. Drink from 2025-2038.
