The vineyard of Quinta do Arnozelo is situated on the southern bank of the Douro river, between the small towns of São João da Pesqueira and Vila Nova de Foz Côa. This is in the prestigious upper reaches of the Douro demarcated wine region, the aptly named Douro Superior. The Burmester Vintage Port 2020 is loaded with character and enormous ageing potential. From a fully declared year, this port is a blend of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional, this is warm, lightly textured with minerality and touched by toastiness. The tannins are soft, already well integrated with the floral notes and black fruits.
This is a luscious wine. Its tannins are cushioned by the ripe plum and prune fruits. That doesn't mean it is likely to develop too quickly, but is ready to take its time, bringing out the opulent character of the wine as well as its structure. Drink from 2028. Roger Voss
The nose is fruity and offers power as well as a fine grain. It reveals notes of fleshy blackberry, raspberry and small notes of cornflower associated with fine touches of crushed cassis as well as hints of grey pepper, graphite, sweet spices and discreet hints of sanguine orange. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a juicy/acidulous frame as well as a fine tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy cassis, crunchy/juicy raspberry and small notes of juicy/acidulous strawberry associated with small touches of violet, cornflower as well as fine hints of chocolate, caramelization and a subtle hint of dry fig/citrus. Good length. Good persistence with fine notes of fresh nut and toasted hazelnut.

This wine has a good structure, firmly sustaining the black fruits and juiciness. A mineral edge gives a fine texture.
Subtle aromas of sunbaked earth, ripe berry and camphor take shape in the glass along with a floral note. The elegant palate is on the lighter side of medium-bodied, offering tart red cherry, ground clove and a hint of mocha alongside polished tannins.

This is a well-structured spicy wine with fresh acidity and lots of fruit. It opens with aromas of meaty red fruit, green bell pepper and peppercorn. Chalky tannins support similar notes of spices and herbs on the palate. A core of plum and blackberry adds to its complexity. It finishes with sweet notes of fruit and tobacco.
Intense and captivating, amiable in the scents of wet red flowers, blue prunes, blueberry juice and sweet caramel. The secondary scene is radiant thanks to the synchronous presence of geraniums, rose petals and star of anise. Medium bodied, fine grained tannins perfectly integrated, a slim finale which excites in the graceful, luminous closing.

Strong ruby, purple reflections, subtle brightening on the rim. Fresh blackberries, wild blackberries, some leather and herbs, delicately underlaid with liquorice. Juicy, elegant, fine roasted caramel and sweet cherries, nougat on the finish, good freshness, shows length and ageing potential.
