Hennessy X.O and Kim Jones offer a limited edition "second skin" decanter. Encased in an aluminum "second skin", it remains faithful to the emblematic shape of the Hennessy X.O decanter. In 1870, Maurice Hennessy imagined a cognac for his loved ones. This new expression of "extra old" cognac has become the house's emblematic cognac: a complex blend. Rich, powerful and balanced, Hennessy X.O gradually reveals seven tasting notes.
Tasting Notes describe this as a crisp, intricate, and dry wine, delivering fresh notes of Granny Smith apples, honey, and lime, characterizing it as a youthful white wine with a notable complexity. This is Oddbird's sparkling chardonnay, a wine that has been liberated from alcohol, underscoring Oddbird's commitment to selecting premium grapes to maintain the distinctive taste and quality of their offerings. The Oddbird Blanc de Blancs, made entirely from Chardonnay grapes sourced from the prestigious vineyards of Languedoc, stands out for its natural purity. Free from additives, artificial colors, or aromas, it's crafted as nature intended. The wine is matured for up to 12 months and undergoes a unique, patented process to remove alcohol while preserving its essential flavors and aromas.
Nose: Intense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and cherry, with hints of cedar, tobacco, and vanilla.
Taste: Rich and full-bodied, with flavors of ripe dark fruits, such as blackberry and plum, accompanied by notes of spice, licorice, and dark chocolate.
Palate: Well-structured with firm tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, lingering finish.
Nose: Intense aromas of red berries, particularly strawberries and raspberries, with hints of floral notes.
Taste: Lively and vibrant on the palate, with a burst of fresh red fruit flavors. Delicate notes of cherries and cranberries.
Palate: Crisp acidity balanced with a subtle creaminess. A long and refreshing finish, leaving a lingering taste of red fruits.
As so often with Lafite, it is power that marks this wine. That, and density of texture. The additional element in this vintage, and at this stage of the wine's development, is a dominant wood element. The vanilla and tannins from the wood match well with the concentrated tannins of the fruit, which is dark, dense and tight. This is a wine for long-term aging: in 15 years this will have superb richness.

"Aromas of wood and fresh fruit translate to the palate, giving this wine depth and concentration. It is powerful but also balanced and fresh, displaying the elegance of the vintage. While never overpowering, the wine's structure will allow it to age well. Drink from 2024. Roger Voss" - 96/100, Wine Enthusiast

"With its perfumed Cabernet Franc and supple Merlot, this wine is packed with fruit and tannins. It is rich although the fruitiness is most apparent, a juicy wine that hides its structure in the cushioning fruits. Drink from 2024. Roger Voss" - 96/100, Wine Enthusiast

Offering up aromas of rich cassis and blackberry fruit mingled with burning embers, loamy soil and cigar wrapper, the 2019 La Tour Carnet is medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with a broad attack that segues into an ample core of fruit that's framed by ripe, powdery tannins and lively acids. This is a seamless, rather giving Médoc that has turned out very well. Best After 2023

Composed of 56% Merlot, 37.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 6.5% Cabernet Franc, the 2016 Haut-Brion is deep garnet in color. The nose beings with simple licorice notes before slowly unfurling to deliver growing scents of creme de cassis, plum preserves, dark chocolate, and lilacs, followed by suggestions of crushed rocks, tar, black truffles and cardamom. The full-bodied palate is a tightly coiled spring, taut with black fruit preserves and earthy layers and framed by very firm, grainy tannins, delivering a burst of freshness to carry the long, long, long finish. This will need a good 7-10 more years to fully blossom, and it will be well worth the wait.

This is really excellent with creamy tannins and a lovely berry, currant and blueberry character. Full and luscious for the vintage. Superb. Second wine of Ausone.

By the arly 1900's, Champy has established itself as a premier wine company and had acquired more land in the Beaune, specifically in Savigny and Clos Vougeot. An elegant nose on a subtly woody base. On the palate, a good richness and smoothness with a long finish, opulent and round.
Open and intense nose with notes of orange and grapefruit. The attack is fresh and supple. Well-balanced and concentrated wine with good mineral length on the finish.

Forest leaf, cigar box, herbs, flowers, cherry pipe tobacco, forest scents and spice nuances start off the perfume. On the palate, the wine is juicy, silky, fresh and vibrant, with layers of fresh, sweet, vibrant, polished red fruits that linger. Elegance is the keyword here. This is probably the finest vintage of Le Clarence de Haut Brion ever produced. It is a great example of a baby Haut Brion.

Cigar box, smoke, herbs, cassis, espresso and blackberries with a savoury edge open the wine aromatically. The palate offers freshness, layers of ripe, spicy currants and peppery blackberries with chewy tannins that hang with you, providing length, vibrancy and refinement in the finish. This is going to age and evolve for decades.
Decanter
This is a great Talbot, a real success for the château. Subtle and deft touches throughout, from the smoked turmeric notes that lace the black fruits to the finessed aromatics that accompany the body of the wine. Balance and freshness, and a saline edge to the finish that is extremely moreish. Three years with Jean-Michel Laporte as director, and he is doing great work.
Vouvray, Loire Valley, France
Catherine and Didier Champalou share a common background, both hailing from vigneron families. However, their shared spirit of independence led them to embark on their winemaking journey alone. In 1983, they founded their Domaine, and since then, their label has earned widespread acclaim in the appellation. Vouvray, the region they call home, is renowned for the noble Chenin Blanc grape, also known as Pineau de la Loire. The Champalou family tends to 21 hectares of vineyards, committed to sustainable farming practices and even incorporating the lunar calendar into their work. Their vineyards boast rich, deep soils, well-aerated due to regular plowing. Embodying the Champalou house style, their wines exude elegance and tenderness, characterized by intense aromas and impeccable balance. Their unique style sets them apart, and no one else comes close to replicating their distinct and exceptional wines.

Xavier Gerard is one of the young stars of the Northern Rhone. His father left him some prime land in the regions of Cote Rotie (including a tiny parcel in La Landonne), Condrieu and Saint Joseph. Although he is not certified, he practises organically in all his vineyards, and all of his wines are unfined and unfiltered. This is a blend of 96% Syrah and 4% Viognier, which makes its presence known with a touch of stone fruit among the ripe forest berries. Good concentration and smooth tannins, yet with high acidity that all lead to a long finish.

In 1992 he inherited his first vineyard in Meursault and since then has been pursuing his passion for producing authentic, pure, and elegant wines that are non pretentious. He uses only natural yeasts and 20-30% new oak to ensure he lets the purity of the Chardonnay shine through. Languedoc-Roussillon, France
This low acid, full bodied grape can be hard to make wine from, as it can be flabby if grapes are not harvested enough to maintain the acidity. The Paul Mas Viognier offers typical Viognier qualities of stone fruit and floral notes. Elegant and balanced, it is a solid option for grilled pork or chicken.
An intense colour: Bold yellow with golden highlights A rich bouquet: A burst of exotic fruits (pineapple, mango) The roundness of stonefruits (mirabelle plum, apricot) A slight hint of vanilla
